For those of you who have visited this site before, you will notice that a new page has been added which I have called Readers Questions. The reason being, I am receiving many, many e-mails asking various questions about mysterious aircraft, to which in the main I do not have the answers. I do not have the expertise, knowledge or information available on most of the requests that I receive. I havebeen able to help on a number of occasions, or to point people in the right direction as to where they might get the information they seek, but mostly I find that I am at a loss.
I would appreciate any comments or feedback as to whether this page is a worthwhile subject to pursue. It is something fairly new as I have not seen many pages which offer this kind of "Audience Participation". I feel that it could be the start of something exciting and interesting, in which we can all be involved, and just may lead to a lot of fresh ideas and answers which might help in the quest for further knowledge on this fascinating subject of "STEALTH". I would like to make one point clear, that if any of you who do write to me and do not wish there querie to be "aired" on the Net for whatever reason, just mention it in your 'E', I will of course respect your wishes and try to find other means to answer your questions. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have taken the time to contact me with many letters of appreciation, support and help, I hope that you will continue to do so in the future. And so to the first questions.............................. |

![]() A Radar Cross Section |
Radar Cross-Section From Behan Kamvari in TehranDear sir :I am doing a project on the future of "stealth technology". I have a question for you, I know that the stealth planes have a reduced Cross Sectional Area (RCS) of 0.01 - 0.001 m^2 which is nearly equal to the RCS of a bird or an insect, this means that the detection range for these stealth planes is close to 16 miles.I was wondering aren't th e modern radars capable of detecting birds or insects from a much further distance for example a 100 miles away from the radar antenna.Or may be the radars do detect the signals from a birds that is 100 miles away but since the echo is to faint the received signal is ignored by the radar'signal processor.Thank you...................................... |
| Strange Sightings in Alabama From Mrs. R. Thomas:Dear Sir or Madam;A few days ago, my husband and I were looking for houses out in the countryside. We currently live in North Alabama near Redstone Arsenal and are used to experiencing strange aircraft, coming and going. But the other day, we noticed a large passenger-style plane (727 type) hovering over a field near Limestone County. The craft was white, with a red circular-style emblem on the tail. It also had a large disk (maybe 20 feet in diameter) under the belly, towards the tail of the plane. What was interesting, was that the plane hovered for about 4 to 5 minutes before we were spotted "gawking" at it, and it took off rather quickly. I am only familar with 4 planes that can do vertical/short take-off and landings. This did not look like any of them. If I can get another opportunity, I will try and take a picture of this aircraft. Let me know if you are familiar with any aircraft with these capabilities. |

![]() Indiana Sighting ? |
Unidentified Aircraft From Daniel J.Hello,I have seen your web page and it looks like you are fairly knowledgeable about the subject of strange aircraft, at least from a military perspective, and I am trying to get an aircraft identified, so I felt that you would be a place to go or at least a place to point me in the right direction. I live in Indiana, around 30 miles from Crane Naval Base.Over the past two days, there has been a very strange aircraft flying over our town at night. It appears to have four lights, two on eachwing. The two inner lights are white and flash two or three times in arow in a stroboscropic fashion and then rest. The two outer lights arered and flash slowly, about once a second. All four of these lights arevery bright. The plane itself operates in a very strange manner. It moves very slowly at times and at others seems to zip by incredibly quickly. It has even appeared to hover in place more than once. It also seems to be circling the town for some reason or another. I have gotten two good looks at this plane, but as these were both at night and the viewing was fair at best, they are not very detailed, I will describe them as best I can. At both times, the plane was flying low enough to the ground for me tomake out fairly good detail if the night had been a clear one. The first time, I saw a quick side view of the plane as it flew past very quickly. It looked like a single or double-passenger plane, but it had a bulbous cockpit much like a Boeing 747. The second view was of the bottom of the plane. Again, this was a quick look, as I was in a car at the time (a friend was driving, so I was able to pay attention to the plane), and it was when the plane appeared to be hovering. The bottom looked as if it were fairly flat, almost as flat as the space shuttle, with a slight bulge running down its centre from nose to tail. It also appeared from the ground to be made of a series of metal plates that were alignede nd-to-end from nose to tail. The plane also appeared to be entirely white, but it was too difficult to see if there were any discerning marks on it. The wings, when it is hovering (unless I am mistaken) do not move to a vertical position like a harrier's wings and I saw no evidence of any rotor above the plane or any sort of propulsion system beneath the plane that would enable it to hover (although, as far as the propulsion system goes, I again did not get a good enough look to besure). I have no idea whether or not this plane was a jet, but it achieved speeds that I doubt any prop plain could reach. I am not a believer in alien spacecraft and even if I were, there is no doubt in my mind that this *was* just an airplane, but a very strange one. Any ideas on what it could possibly be or who could give me an inkling? Thanks very much................................................. |
| New Aircraft I live out near groom lake. And a couple of weeks ago I saw a strange plane that I didn't know what it was I have been scanning the Internet and haven't found anything that looks like it. It had forward swept wings like the X-29. It also had what looked like a F119 engine. It was about the size of the F-16 that was flying chase for it. It had a hump between the canopy and tail. It was painted black with only a USAF marking in gray. Its performance was like nothing I had ever seen it could sideslip like a helicopter and the F-16 that was flying chase for him couldn't even do half of what the plane was doing. I think they had a mock dogfight or something and the mystery plane whipped the F-16's butt. Do you know of any planes like this or have there been any other sightings of it if so please tell me. My e-mail address is gbkyle@aol.com Sincerely, Kyle Tracy |

![]() Boeing "Bird of Prey" |
Bird of Prey From Tony Have you ever heard of a project called BOP. I believe it stands for birdof prey.I overheard someone in authority speak of it, and when I asked about it was told I misunderstood him/her. I dont think so. If anyone has info on this I would be pleased to hear about it as I have never heard the term..........Colin |
| Area 51 I received this letter but there was no name attached, I am also interested in any replies on this one as this is the seventh letter I have received on this subject. I have heard that Area 51 is no longer the major test site because ofincreased popularity & that the projects have been moved to otherbases. Have you heard anything of that nature????Thanks.................................................. That's all for now folks, enough to be going on with. Any help at all would be tremendous, and remember "The Truth Is Out There", |
